Welcome to the Samantha Sykes Foundation Trust, where hope begins and lives are transformed. Our mission is to provide specialist support and therapeutic interventions to victims and those at high risk of child sexual exploitation, up to the age of 25. Through our referral process, we offer services like Psychotherapy and Trauma Counselling, empowering young individuals to heal and overcome their traumatic experiences.
But that’s not all we do. We also believe in the power of education and strive to support looked-after children and care leavers in accessing further and higher education. By providing essential resources such as books, equipment, laptops, private tutoring, and travel passes, we aim to remove any barriers that hinder their journey towards reaching their full potential.
For these young individuals, the opportunity to pursue any level of education is a remarkable achievement. The impact of our support goes beyond our wildest dreams; it is life-changing. Even the simplest tools for education can unlock a world of possibilities for them.
In fact, a number of our clients have successfully entered higher education and gained qualifications in areas like Social Work and Law. They have not only conquered their past challenges but gone on to support others in the care system, paying forward the kindness and demonstrating the effectiveness and sustainability of our work.
But our commitment doesn’t stop there. We understand that accessing specialist therapy is crucial for those who have endured child sexual exploitation and trafficking. It allows them to navigate through upcoming legal proceedings with strength, rebuild their lives, and rediscover their sense of self-worth.
These achievements, these transformations, are truly priceless. They are a testament to the strength and resilience of the young people we serve.
Since February 2014, we have been making an incredible impact in Yorkshire and beyond, supporting over 3000 children and young people. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our highly trained and experienced therapists, who tirelessly work alongside us in our social movement. Their commitment and expertise empower these young individuals to heal from their abusive experiences and find hope in brighter tomorrows.
